| Software maintenance and support (SMS) is available for each product version for at least four years from the release date of that version. |

- Major Release

New major releases are for significant major architectural changes, support for new platforms etc..
- Minor Release Number - Feature Pack

New minor releases include new features/enhancements and defect fixes.
- Service Pack/Security Updates Release Number

Service Pack or patch releases are delivered to fix critical customer reported and internal defects. They are also used to deliver security updates to address critical product vulnerabilities.
- Technical Build Number

During development, changes to the software by development team/individual developers are assigned a build number that increases incrementally with each set of changes.
