Aspen InfoPlus.21 (IP.21)
For a tight integration of AspenTech IP.21 systems, the system offers an interface that is comprised of two components. On the one hand, there is the
IP.21 Server
object and on the other hand, there is the
Datasource IP.21 gRPC
object.
The
IP.21 Server
object is responsible for the communication with the IP.21 system and needs to be installed on a dedicated Node running on the same machine as the IP.21 system.
The
Datasource IP.21 gRPC
object translates the data for the system protocol.
To minimize the load on the IP.21 host machine, this Datasource object is ideally installed on another dedicated Node, running on a separate machine on site.
While the gRPC Server functionality makes the IP.21 system available to the AspenTech Inmation system,
it can also be used to replicate one IP.21 system to another IP.21 system through the AspenTech Inmation system.
Configure the InfoPlus.21 System according to the IP.21 System Requirements before you move on to the Installation and Fundamental Configuration of the IP.21 Server. Then dedicated pages address the specific configuration for both use-cases, i.e. gRPC Server and the IP.21 Replication in detail.
