Object Guides
AspenTech Inmation OT Data Fabric is made up of objects in various object models.
These objects are the building blocks of which an inmation system is built, adding specific functionality where it is needed. The table below lists the available classes of objects and their description, for more information for each individual object click on the respective link.

| Connection Group | Groups connection objects together. |
| Data Store Group | Group data store objects together. |
| Datasource Dropzone | Represents a Dropzone datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |
| Datasource IP.21 gRPC | Represents an IP.21 gRPC datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |
| Datasource Kafka | Represents a Kafka datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |
| Datasource Modbus | Represents a Modbus datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |
| Datasource MQTT Subscriber | Represents a MQTT Subscriber datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |
| Datasource ODBC | Represents an ODBC datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |
| Datasource OPC A&E | Represents an OPC A&E datasource or server, which supplies an interface supported by the system. |

| Downlink Connection | Configures the connection to a downlink (child) Node. |
| Event Data Store | A userdefined data store for selected events. |
| Event Stream | Represents a configured and optionally filtered event stream connected to an external event source. |
| Event Tracker | Represents a configured event tracker connected to an external event source. |
| File Monitor | Allows to monitor and read file based data in cases where the dropzone functionality is not sufficient. |
| File Sink | The file sink receives the files from file source and stores them into the configured storage. |
| File Source | The file source processes the files from disk folder and transfers to the configured File Sink object. |
| Folder | Can be used to organize objects in a certain hierarchical structure. |
| Generic Item | Generic Items can be used for Simulation, Script-based data generation and more. |
| Generic Event Buffer | A persistent event buffer for data of particular items of the system, with support for custom script. |
| Generic Time Series Buffer | A persistent time-series buffer for data of particular items of the system, with support for custom script. |
| Group Identifier | Contains the identifier of a group used during authentication. |
| History Transfer Controller | Manages the infrastructure of HistoryTransporter and HistorySink objects in a system in order to route historical time-series data from source to sink. |
| History Exporter | Does a one-shot export of history data into a file. |
| History Sink | Inserts historical time-series data into an external Historian system. |
| History Subscriber | History transport via subscription-based protocols. |
| History Transport Manager | Controls a set of History Transporter objects in browse-process fashion. |
| Bucketed Configuration | Configuration object for Bucketed extension for History Transport Manager. |
| History Transporter | Allows to fetch large chunks of external history. |
| Data Holder Item | The Data Holder Item allows for storage of real-time data. It can be set by external OPC Clients. |
| IP.21 Blob Buffer | A persistent buffer for IP.21 blob data (replication messages). |
| IP.21 Server | The inmation IP.21 Server object extends an Aspen InfoPlus.21 historian to interface with other services. |
| Inmation Receiver | Manages data received via Inmation To Inmation advanced endpoint. |
| Internal Event Stream | This class catches all internal generated alarms and events which are raised by AlarmGenerator objects. |
| IO-Item Dropzone | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-ItemGroup | Represents a group of I/O Nodes and I/O Items. |
| IO-Item Kafka | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Item Modbus | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Item MQTT | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Item ODBC | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Item OPC COM | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Item OPC UA | Represents a UA I/O item element assigned to a UA I/O node, which itself belongs to a UA endpoint (server). |
| IO-Item PLC Allen-Bradley | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Item PLC S7-300_400 | A named element acquired from an item-oriented system. |
| IO-Node Dropzone | The IO Dropzone node is a folder-type object, usually refering to a node in an external systems namespace. |
| IO-Node Kafka | The IO Kafka node is a folder-type object, usually refering to a node in an external systems namespace. |
| IO-Node Modbus | The IO Modbus node is a folder-type object, usually refering to a node in an external systems namespace. |

| Link Item | Holds a link to any other item with a dynamic value property. |
| Node | An instance of Node. |
| Node Delegate | Share objects between Nodes. |
| OIDC Security Provider | A generic OIDC security provider. |
| OPC UA Servers | A container for embedded OPC UA Servers. |
| OPC UA TCP Server | A OPC UA TCP server instance. |
| OPC UA TCP Server Endpoint | A OPC UA TCP server endpoint. |
| Profile | Profile. |
| Profile Group | Manage and group profiles. |
| Redundant Item | Redundant Items are used to provide redundancy based on multiple data sources. |
| Redundant Event Stream | This object provides for a logical event stream; consisting of multiple A&E streams supplying the same data. |
| Area | Logical grouping of Work Centers. |
| Control Module | Typically a collection of sensors, actuators and associated process equipment that, from the point of view of control, is operated as a single entity. |
| Enterprise | Top-level equipment which contains Sites. |
| Equipment Module | A functional group of equipment that can carry out a finity number of specific minor processing activities. |
| Unit | A collection of associated Control Models and / or Equipment Models. |
| Unit | Equipment which performs a continuous process. |
| ProcessCell | Equipment used in batch production which contains Units. |
| Production Line | Equipment used in repetitive or discrete production. |
| Production Unit | Equipment used in continuous production. |
| Site | Normaly a location based equipment level which contains Areas. |
| Storage Unit | Storage location like silos, bins and racks. |
| Storage Zone | Storage like silo parks and warehouses. |
| Work Cell | Equipment which creates one part of the product. |
| Work Center | Generic equipment on Work Center level. |
| Work Unit | Generic equipment on Work Unit level. |
| Scheduler Item | Scheduler class for time-based scheduling. |
| Script Events | This class collects the scripts events below its hierarchical position. |
| Script Library Group | Manage and group script libraries. |
| Script Library Item | Can be used to manage a script library. |
| Security Perimeter | Any code executing in the objects below in the tree will have the security identity of the perimeter object, which can be used to specify security permissions. |
| Event Type Property | Represents a property of an event type. |
| Stored Credential | Used to store different types of credential. |
| Stored Credentials Group | Group object to contain credentials objects. |
| Table Holder | Object to hold table data. |
| Time Series Data Store | A custom data store containing numerical time series history of particular items of the system. |
| Uplink Connection | Configures the connection to an uplink (parent) Node. |
| User Identifier | Contains the identifier of a user used during authentication. |
| Variable | The Variable allows for storage of real-time data. |
| Variable Group | Can be used to organize variable objects in a certain hierarchical structure. |
